Sri Lanka, Jan. 6 -- The government has approved a proposal to revise the fees charged for issuing temporary driving licences under the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licence Levy) Regulations No. 3 of 2022, which were prepared under the Motor Traffic Act.

Authorities said the decision was taken after identifying the need to update the existing fee structure to better reflect the services provided in issuing temporary driving licences.

The Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) issues temporary driving licences to foreign nationals based on driving licences issued overseas. At present, this service is provided by the DMT office in Werahera.
