Sri Lanka, March 26 -- Major General (Retired) Suresh Sallay, the former head of the State Intelligence Service, who had been admitted to the National Hospital in Colombo due to an illness related to his ear, was brought back to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today after receiving treatment.

He had been hospitalised following a sudden medical condition but was discharged after undergoing treatment, sources said.

Sallay is currently being detained under a 90-day detention order in connection with an ongoing investigation by the CID into the 2019 Easter Sunday bomb attacks.
