Subsidy, price caps or hike? Govt. weighs fuel options
Sri Lanka, Sept. 15 -- The government is considering several measures to address pressure on domestic fuel prices amid rising global crude oil costs, Power and Energy Minister Anura Karunathilaka has said.
The options include providing state fuel subsidies, similar to measures introduced in April and May, setting upper and lower price limits for private fuel distributors, or revising retail fuel prices.
The Minister said the government is assessing the available options before reaching a final decision.
