Sri Lankan embassy issues urgent safety advisory due to Nepal floods
Sri Lanka, Aug. 27 -- The Sri Lankan Embassy in Kathmandu has issued an urgent safety advisory to Sri Lankan nationals in Nepal following a sudden flash flood that entered Rasuwa district through the Bhote Koshi River from the Tibetan side.
The flood has caused significant damage in the Timure and Syabrubesi areas and raised concerns along downstream sections of the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers.
Sri Lankans in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, Chitwan and other areas along the river corridors have been urged to avoid rivers, riverbanks, bridges and low-lying areas and to follow instructions from local authorities and security agencies.
