Sri Lanka, March 2 -- Sri Lanka will not approve war in any form and that Sri Lanka stands for world peace, Cabinet Spokesman, Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said today.

He told a special news conference at the Government Information Department that Sri Lanka's request and intervention is to stop the war and ensure world peace.

The Minister said the escalating war will impact world peace, regional stability and world economy in all aspects.

He said the government has taken steps to ensure the safety of one million Sri Lankans in the Middle East region while safety has been ensured of foreigners living in Sri Lanka as well.
