Sri Lanka, Oct. 25 -- The Sri Lanka Navy vessel Samudura set sail on 24 October 2025 to rescue the crew of the merchant ship MV INTEGRITY STAR, which had encountered distress about 100 nautical miles south of Sri Lanka due to a technical fault in its main engines.

According to the Navy, the rescue operation was launched under the coordination of the Maritime Search and Rescue Centre after receiving information about the incident.

The Samudura was deployed to assist and rescue the 14 crew members on board the distressed vessel, consisting of Indian, Turkish, and Azerbaijani nationals.
