Sri Lanka, June 5 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake today launched revised green reporting guidelines to align local public and private sectors with international sustainability standards.

The updated National Green Reporting System (NGRS) modernizes a framework originally introduced in 2011.

The changes help Sri Lankan organizations report environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance using Global Reporting Initiative standards.

The European Union (EU) funded the revision through a project implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation.

Officials said the voluntary platform helps businesses measure sustainability and improve operational efficiency.
