Sri Lanka, July 23 -- Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne engaged in a verbal clash with MP Chanaka Madugoda during which the former accused the MP of taking too much time on questions.

"You cannot make Parliament a joke," the Speaker said.

He also clashed with MP Ramanathan Archuna as well over raising questions.

MP Madugoda then proposed that answers for oral questions be submitted by the relevant Minister before the sessions, so that there will be enough time for supplimentary questions.
