Colombo, Sept. 25 -- The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) said they would bring a No-Confidence Motion (NCM) against Speaker of Parliament Jagath Wickramaratne, alleging that he is unfit to hold office due to his recent handling of Parliamentary procedures.

Speaking in Parliament today, SJB MP Ajith P. Perera accused the Speaker of rejecting a previously submitted No-Confidence Motion without providing any justifications.

Perera said that such conduct undermines democratic principles and erodes Parliamentary accountability.
