SriLanka, Sept. 13 -- Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) will stage public protest in Colombo on September 24 against the proposed 22nd Amendment to the Constitution.

Premadasa made the announcement while addressing a meeting of SJB Colombo District local government members and electorate organisers held today (13) at the Opposition Leader's Office.

He accused the government led by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake of seeking to establish one-party rule by undermining judicial independence and the rule of law through the proposed constitutional amendment.
