Sri Lanka, Oct. 17 -- Ishara Sewwandi, the suspect accused of disguising herself as a lawyer and supplying the revolver used in the courtroom assassination of underworld figure "Ganemulla Sanjeewa", had spent three months in hiding in Matugama and Middeniya under the protection of female bodyguards, before she left for Nepal, police investigations have revealed.
According to a senior police officer, Sewwandi, believed to have links with a notorious underworld gang and an international drug network, lived in two safe houses in Matugama for about two months. She later moved to Middeniya, where she remained in hiding for another month before fleeing further north.
