Sri Lanka, Aug. 4 -- The Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre of the Meteorology Department has issued a severe lightning alert for 10 districts in the Northern, North-Central, and Eastern provinces.

The warning states that thundershowers accompanied by lightning are expected in these areas, and temporary localized strong winds may also occur during the storms.

The public is urged to take necessary precautions to minimize the risk of injuries or damage caused by lightning activity.
