Sri Lanka, March 13 -- Attorney-at-law Sanjeewa Samarawickrama stated that former Intelligence Chief Suresh Sallay was not in Sri Lanka at the time of the 2019 Sri Lanka Easter Sunday bombings and was not serving as the Head of Intelligence when the attacks took place.

He made these remarks while addressing a media briefing in Colombo.

Attorney Samarawickrama said that Sallay had left Sri Lanka in 2016 and returned to the country only in December 2018. He further noted that from January to November 2019, Sallay had been undergoing military training at the Defence Services Staff College in India.
