Sri Lanka, June 11 -- Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa today raised concerns about the government's failure to appoint four judges each to the Supreme Court (SC) and the Court of Appeal (CA), which had been vacant for more than six months.

He told Parliament that some career judges had retired due to the delay in filling the vacancies in the two courts.

Raising a question under Standing Order 27/2, he said it is not appropriate for a government which had come to power to make a system change to delay appointing the judges.
