Sajith calls for full implementation of 13th Amendment
Sri Lanka, Oct. 9 -- Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa today called for the full implementation of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution, saying it would help build goodwill among Sri Lanka's ethnic communities.
Speaking in Parliament, Premadasa said people from different ethnic backgrounds should not be categorised as members of the majority or minority communities, but should instead be recognised equally as Sri Lankans.
"We should not refer to ethnic groups living in this country as the majority community and minorities but should consider everyone as Sri Lankans," he said.
