Rupee appreciates as dollar selling rates fall
Sri Lanka, May 25 -- The Sri Lankan Rupee appreciated further against the US Dollar today (25), according to the latest exchange rates released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).
CBSL reported the buying rate of the US Dollar at Rs. 326 and the selling rate at Rs. 336, reflecting a continued strengthening of the rupee compared to last Friday.
Commercial banks also recorded a drop in dollar selling rates, with some banks offering the currency at nearly Rs. 330.
According to Seylan Bank, the buying rate of the US Dollar declined from Rs. 329.25 to Rs. 323.25, while the selling rate dropped from Rs. 347 to Rs. 337.
Meanwhile, NDB Bank reduced its buying rate from Rs. 330 to Rs. 325.50 and the selling rate from Rs. 340 to Rs. 334.50...
