Rs. 45 bn allocated to complete stalled hospital projects
Srilanka, Aug. 16 -- The government has allocated Rs. 45 billion to restart and complete hospital construction projects that were suspended midway, with the projects expected to be completed within the next two years, Health Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said.
Speaking at an event, Minister Jayatissa said action was already being taken to resume the stalled projects.
He said the government was focusing on the efficient utilisation of public funds while identifying and addressing priority requirements in the health sector.
The Minister said measures were also being taken to strengthen hospital services by providing essential modern medical equipment.
