Sri Lanka, Oct. 9 -- Two modern laparoscopy machines worth approximately Rs. 120 million have been donated to the Ministry of Health to strengthen Sri Lanka's free healthcare services.

The donation was made through financial contributions from Ven. Nakulugamuwe Sumana Thera, based in Singapore, and Sunil Wijewardena of Kohilawatta, Chairman of the Kadawatha Sarana Buddhist Foundation.

The equipment and relevant documents were handed over to Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa at the 'Asidisi Madura' premises of the Ministry of Mass Media in Narahenpita.

The two machines are to be allocated to the Kandy National Hospital and the Ragama Teaching Hospital to improve facilities for modern surgical procedures.
