Sri Lanka, Aug. 25 -- The Cabinet has approved the appointment of Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) Thushara Indunil Fernando as the Commissioner General of the Department of Motor Traffic (DMT).

Fernando will assume the currently vacant post on a contract basis with immediate effect.

The appointment was approved following a proposal submitted by the Minister of Transport, Highways and Urban Development.
