Sri Lanka, Aug. 12 -- The old route from Nagrak to Horton Plains passes through the Nonpareil Estate in Balangoda. In the past, this was also a route used by people to travel to Horton Plains. It is a very challenging, mountainous trail, suitable only for hikers and trekkers travelling on foot.

However, access to this route is no longer permitted, as the area has been designated as part of the environmentally sensitive zone of Horton Plains. The total distance of this route from Balangoda, through Nonpareil Estate and Nagrak to Horton Plains, is approximately 16-18 km.
