Sri Lanka, Aug. 23 -- Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who is in remand custody, has been transferred to the National Hospital in Colombo due to health concerns.

According to sources, the move followed medical assessments that recommended specialist care not available at the prison hospital.

Wickremesinghe, who was remanded yesterday, was first admitted to the prison hospital with multiple health complications.
