Sri Lanka, Aug. 25 -- Sri Lanka Railways Station Masters' Union (SLRSMU) has called for an urgent investigation into the recent breakdowns of locomotive engines, alleging that the current Railway General Manager (GM) should be among those scrutinised over the incidents.

SLRSMU General Secretary Kasun Chamara, speaking to the media, claimed that a proper investigation would establish responsibility for the failures and alleged that the Railway GM was responsible for the current situation.

Chamara also showed journalists a letter sent by the Railway GM threatening legal action against him over statements he had made to the media.
