Sri Lanka, Oct. 26 -- The Ministry of Education has empowered Provincial Directors of Education and Provincial Secretaries of Education to decide whether schools in their respective areas should remain open or be closed in response to adverse weather conditions.

The decision-making authority has been granted to provincial education officials to enable them to take appropriate action based on the weather conditions affecting their respective areas.
