Colombo, Sept. 23 -- Fuel prices have dropped between Rs. 17 and Rs. 39 during the first year of the current President's tenure, Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said.
Addressing the media, the Minister said the reduction in fuel prices, along with other goods and services, has given people some breathing space as the government marks one year in office.
According to data, between August 31, 2024, and August 31, 2025, the price of a litre of Lanka Petrol 92 Octane was reduced by Rs. 33, while Lanka Petrol 95 Octane Euro 4 dropped by Rs. 36. The price of Lanka Auto Diesel decreased by Rs. 24 per litre, Super Diesel by Rs. 39, and Lanka Kerosene by Rs. 17.
