Sri Lanka, Feb. 25 -- Police have arrested the second suspect allegedly involved in the shooting death of a lawyer and his wife in Akuregoda, Thalangama, the Police Media Division said yesterday (24).
The suspect was captured in the Uva Province during a special operation carried out by investigating officers.
The double murder happened on February 13, when two gunmen arrived in a car in Akuregoda and opened fire on the lawyer and his wife while they were inside their vehicle. The attackers then fled the scene.
Earlier, police had arrested the first suspect linked to the crime on February 21 in the Ambalangoda Police Division. After several days of ongoing operations, officers were able to apprehend the second gunman as well.
