Sri Lanka, Oct. 8 -- Tomorrow Parliament is to debate the move to transfer Police Commission powers to the Inspector General of Police (IGP). 
An agreement was reached by the Opposition and the ruling party today to hold the debate on Friday.
A motion was presented by Opposition MP Sujeewa Senasinghe this morning. The motion seeks to urge Parliament to intervene in safeguarding the powers of the Police Commission.
