Sri Lanka, Oct. 1 -- Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa on Tuesday pledged the full support of the Opposition to revitalise and protect Sri Lanka's agricultural sector.

Speaking at a public gathering in Kalawewa, Premadasa emphasised the importance of a strong and sustainable agricultural industry for the country's future.

"I assure you that the Opposition will take every possible step to ensure the development and protection of Sri Lanka's agriculture. We are committed to rebuilding this vital sector," he said.

Premadasa also criticised the liberal economic policies, stating that liberalism has failed to deliver positive outcomes in Sri Lanka.
