Sri Lanka, Sept. 3 -- National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) certification will become mandatory for refrigeration, air-conditioning and vehicle air-conditioning technicians under new rules issued by the Sri Lanka Engineering Council.

The National Ozone Unit of the Environment Ministry, together with the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), is currently implementing an island-wide programme to provide free NVQ Level 3 and Level 4 training for refrigeration and air-conditioning technicians and vehicle air-conditioning technicians.
