NPPers receives 'Santhosham' from leading businessman following allowing solar project: MP
Sri Lanka, June 25 -- A group of NPP politicians have received a santhosham from a leading businessman for allowing a solar power project on a land in the reserved forest area in Polonnaruwa, opposition MP Chamara Sampath Dassanayake alleged in Parliament yesterday.
"Some 50 acres in the Sudukanda reserved forest area in the Polonnaruwa district is being cleared to set up a solar power project," the MP said.
"The project belongs to one of the handful of businessmen who have associated with the NPP government. Present government has associated with a handful of businessmen who are involved in the power and energy sector, involved in importation of BYD vehicles. It's one of these businessmen who have offered Santhosham to NPP politicians...
