Sri Lanka, Jan. 20 -- Claiming that the government is not willing to answer questions about any adverse effects that could result from using inferior quality coal for power generation, Environment Minister Dhammika Patabedi today said he would respond once it is proven with evidence that the use of so-called inferior quality coal would cause any issues.
The Minister made this remark in response to a question raised by Opposition MP Hector Appuhamy on whether the Environment Ministry has taken any action regarding the possible adverse effects on people in Kalpitiya if this inferior quality coal were used for power generation.
