Sri Lanka, March 2 -- Cabinet Spokesman Nalinda Jayatissa said today that no immediate need has arisen to introduce the QR code for fuel supply as there has been no issue in fuel supply.

He said the QR code was introduced for fuel supply earlier as fuel consumption had to be restricted due to the fuel crisis faced by the country at that time.

The Minister said there has been no issue in fuel supply, adding that sufficient stocks are available in the country.

He said the government will consider introducing the QR code system if the need arises.
