Sri Lanka, Oct. 25 -- Depatment of Motor Transport (DMT) Commissioner General Kamal Amarasinghe has clarified that no final decision has been made regarding a revision of driving license fees this year.
While the maximum allowable increase for 2025 is 15%, the Commissioner emphasized that this represents the upper limit and not a confirmed fee hike.
He explained that driving license fees are typically revised every three years, with the last adjustment carried out in 2022.
"Although a 15 percent revision would normally apply this year, no final decision has been reached at this stage," Commissioner Amarasinghe said, highlighting that discussions are ongoing.
