Sri Lanka, Oct. 20 -- Nearly Rs. 30 million has been earned from traffic spot fines paid through the GovPay digital payment platform within two months in the Western Province and the stretch between Dambulla and Anuradhapura, Chairman of the Task Force on Digital Affairs of Transport, Highways and Urban Development Ministry, Harsha Purasinghe said today.
He told a news conference that the GovPay digital payment platform for traffic spot fines was introduced in the Western Province in August 2025 after a successful pilot project in the stretch from Kurunegala to Anuradhapura.
He said over 20,000 transactions have taken place for traffic spot fines through the GovPay digital payment platform within just two months.
