Colombo, Aug. 24 -- Colombo National Hospital Deputy Director Dr. Rukshan Bellana said that former President Ranil Wickremesinghe who was admitted to the National Hospital, is receiving treatment under strict medical supervision.
According to Dr. Bellana, Wickremesinghe was transferred from the prison hospital after developing dehydration, accompanied by changes in his blood levels and other clinical signs. The condition is believed to have been triggered by prolonged exposure to power outages and insufficient water intake while waiting for several hours in the courtroom.
"I have just seen the former President. He is suffering from dehydration and there are some changes in his blood and other signs," Dr. Bellana told reporters.
