Sri Lanka, Feb. 10 -- "If the government thinks that it can suppress the opposition, suppress the Maha Sangha, destroy the culture of this country, and make its own policy decisions as the diaspora wants to win an election, the government is wrong," said Namal Rajapaksa, National Organizer and Member of Parliament of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).

Addressing the media, Mr. Rajapaksa said the SLPP is fully prepared to face any election at any time and challenged the government to allow the public to decide through the ballot. He said delaying elections only reflects the government's fear of public opinion.
