SriLanka, Aug. 29 -- Claiming that the deadline for the implementation of Sri Lanka's Digital ID has now passed, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa said that the Government must tell the people clearly when the Digital ID actually would be delivered.
The MP said for nearly two years, the Government has announced successive timelines for the implementation of Sri Lanka's Digital ID.
"April 2026 was announced as a target. That deadline has now passed, and we are once again being told that the first Digital ID will be issued by the end of this year.
