Sri Lanka, Oct. 8 -- Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa today accused the government of not taking a vote for the resolution adopted without a vote at the 60th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.

The MP told Parliament that the government objected the resolution orally but failed to take a vote.

"If the government objects it orally, does it not have a backbone to take a vote? If a vote was taken, the majority of the countries in the world are willing to support Sri Lanka," he said.

Rajapaksa said the government must stop its double standard and act with honesty.

"Who is the government going to please. Is it the Tamil Diaspora?" he asked.
