Sri Lanka, July 1 -- Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) officers in the Western Province whose transfer orders do not specify an effective date will be transferred from August 1, 2026, without having to wait for their successors to assume duties, according to a notification issued by the Western Provincial Health Department.

The announcement follows the approval of the Review Committee's decisions on appeals submitted against the 2026 annual transfer orders of Medical Laboratory Technologist officers serving under the Western Provincial Health Department.

Authorities said the annual transfer orders, initially proposed on April 20, 2026, have been approved subject to amendments recommended by the Review Committee.
