Sri Lanka, Sept. 30 -- The Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Ministry has clarified that the minister mistakenly referred to the Nobel Prize when speaking about the latest global achievement of Sri Lankan tea.

The ministry explained that the minister was actually referring to Sri Lanka's recognition for the most expensive tea ever sold, which has been officially certified as a Guinness World Record.

The minister's mention of the Nobel Prize was an error made during his speech, the statement added.

Sri Lanka recently set the Guinness World Record after a unique variety of Ceylon Tea was sold at a record-breaking price, bringing further international recognition to the country's tea industry.
