Sri Lanka, Feb. 13 -- Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Anura Karunathilaka has resigned from the Select Committee of Parliament to look into and report to Parliament on the release of 323 containers from the Port of Colombo without undergoing mandatory physical inspection and submit its proposals and recommendations.

Committee Chair Minister of Justice and National Integration informed this to the committee when it met in the Parliament complex recently.

The Chair informed the committee that another member will be appointed in place of Minister Karunathilake.
