Colombo, Sept. 24 -- The Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre of the Meteorology Department has issued an advisory urging naval and fishing communities to exercise caution in the Bay of Bengal deep-sea areas.

Authorities warned that wind speeds in the affected sea areas, marked under the "Advisory" category, could reach up to 65 kmph at times, with seas becoming rough to very rough.

Multi-day boats operating in these areas have been advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of crews and vessels.
