Sri Lanka, Aug. 1 -- The Department of Meteorology has issued a Warm Weather Advisory for the North-Central and Eastern provinces, as well as the Monaragala and Hambantota districts, warning of rising heat levels in the coming days.
According to the advisory, the heat index - which measures the temperature felt by the human body - is expected to reach the 'Caution level' in these areas.
At this level, prolonged exposure or physical activity may lead to fatigue, and continuous exertion could result in heat cramps.
The public has been urged to stay hydrated, take frequent breaks in the shade, and avoid strenuous outdoor activities, particularly during peak daytime hours.
