Sri Lanka, Sept. 20 -- A stock of "Kush" and "Hashish" drugs valued at Rs. 16.84 million was seized by officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) today (20) at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).
The drugs, comprising 422 grams of "Kush" and 1.262 kilograms of "Hashish," had been left in the men's toilet near Baggage Lane No. 05 at the arrivals terminal.
An airport employee who discovered the narcotics around 1.30 a.m. promptly informed the Customs Narcotics Control Division at Katunayake Airport. Customs officials then notified the Katunayake Airport Police Narcotics Bureau, which subsequently seized the stock.
Further investigations are being carried out by the Police Narcotics Bureau.
