Sri Lanka, Sept. 14 -- A single mango offered to Lord Ganesha was auctioned at a record price of Rs. 505,000 during an auction held at the Manickapillaiyar Temple in Sasthirikoolankulam,Veppankulam Vavuniya over the weekend.

The auction was held during the traditional Mam Palam Thiruwila festival held at the Kovil.

The priest attached to the Kovil said the fruit was purchased by the family of one E. Mohandas.
