Sri Lanka, Aug. 5 -- A luxury bus was destroyed in a suspected arson attack at the Kaduwela main bus stand early this morning, police said.

According to the Kaduwela Police, two unidentified individuals arrived on a motorcycle and set fire to the bus, which was parked near the weekly fairground, before fleeing the scene. The targeted vehicle was operating on the Kaduwela-Matara expressway route.

The blaze completely destroyed the luxury bus, while two standard-service buses operating on the Kaduwela-Kollupitiya route, which were parked nearby, sustained minor damage.

Police said the incident occurred between 2:30 a.m. and 2:45 a.m. The suspects were reportedly spotted by the driver and conductor of another bus parked nearby. After the ...
