Sri Lanka, Oct. 13 -- With reference to Mr. A. Ratnayake's letter to the Editor, I wish to set the record straight. His assertions are baseless, misleading, and far removed from the truth.
As a regular correspondent with government institutions, I can confirm that letters addressed to the Prime Minister's Office, the Presidential Secretariat, and other state bodies are duly acknowledged and acted upon. In my own experience, every letter I have written has received not only an acknowledgment but also a detailed follow-up communication from the relevant authorities, often with copies sent to me.
