Leader of the House wants MP Archchuna suspended from Parliament
Sri Lanka, July 23 -- Leader of the House Bimal Ratnayake, who said that MP Ramanathan Archchuna is suffering from a mental illness, wanted him suspended from Parliament as per standing orders.
"MP Archchuna is behaving in a pervasive manner. We tolerated him all this time as we knew he was suffering from a mental illness. However, we can no longer tolerate this vulgarism. Therefore, such MPs should be suspended as per standing orders," he said.
Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa who responded, argued that neither the Speaker nor any one else can insult an MP as per standing orders.
