Late asset declarations: CIABOC sets September 30 deadline to explain delays
Sri Lanka, Sept. 9 -- The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has warned individuals who submitted their 2026 Annual or Post-Retirement Declarations of Assets and Liabilities after the June 30 deadline that administrative penalties may be imposed based on the number of days the submissions were delayed.
However, CIABOC has given those concerned an opportunity to explain the reasons for the delay and avoid the penalty, where reasonable cause can be established.
Accordingly, individuals who submitted their declarations after June 30 and on or before August 31, 2026, have been given until September 30, 2026, to submit written reasons for the delay along with any relevant documentary evidence.
