Sri Lanka, Aug. 7 -- Former Investment Promotion Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena has been granted bail by the Colombo High Court after being served with indictments in connection with an alleged bribery case.

The indictments were filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), which accused the former minister of accepting a Rs. 1 million bribe from a businessman.

According to CIABOC, the alleged bribe was accepted to facilitate a matter related to the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI).
