Sri Lanka, Aug. 14 -- Japan has confirmed that the construction work of the second passenger terminal at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) will commence before November this year.

The confirmation was given during a discussion between the Minister of Ports, Civil Aviation and Energy Anura Karunathilaka and a delegation led by JICA Senior Vice President Hara Shohei and JICA Chief Representative Honzu Shigeo this morning at the Ministry premises.

The Ministry said in a statement that as a result of the discussions held by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake with the Japanese government to restart this project, which had been initiated and halted in the past, the Japanese government had agreed to restart it.
